BLACK AND WHITE – 2017
2017 · SOLO EXHIBITION
Galerie Edition Camos · Munich, Germany
BLACK AND WHITE was a solo exhibition by Austrian fine art photographer Gerald Berghammer, presented at Galerie Edition Camos in Munich, Germany, in autumn 2017. The exhibition explored urban architecture, geometric forms and photographic expression through a selection of analogue black-and-white fine art photographs.
Featuring iconic landmarks from New York, Paris and San Francisco, including the Flatiron Building, Eiffel Tower and Golden Gate Bridge, the exhibition reflected Berghammer's distinctive approach to composition, visual reduction and tonal contrast. His photographs revealed a quiet interplay between architectural precision, atmosphere and stillness.
Created using traditional analogue photographic techniques, the works demonstrated Berghammer's dedication to craftsmanship and precise tonal control. Long exposures softened movement, while carefully balanced compositions and refined monochrome tones transformed familiar cityscapes into timeless photographic studies.
BLACK AND WHITE marked an important chapter in Berghammer's international exhibition history. Covered by the German newspaper Süddeutsche Zeitung in November 2017, the exhibition highlighted his continuing exploration of minimalist aesthetics, architectural photography and analogue craftsmanship.
