GERALD BERGHAMMER

SELECTED WORKS

A curated selection of Gerald Berghammer’s defining fine art photographs, exploring stillness, reduction, rhythm and the relationship between nature, time and space. The selection brings together key works from his black-and-white and colour photography, including minimalist landscapes, winter studies, ancient forests and long-exposure seascapes.

WINTER SILENCE

A study of winter as a landscape of silence, rhythm and reduction. Trees, fields and snow are reduced to their essential forms, creating compositions defined by space, repetition and subtle tonal contrast.

ANCIENT FOREST

Ancient trees, mist and layered woodland form the foundation of this series. Photographed primarily in the Laurisilva forests of Madeira, the works explore age, structure and organic form, transforming the forest into a quiet study of time, resilience and natural sculpture.

LAND / WATER / SILENCE

Open landscapes, water and isolated structures are reduced to their essential forms. Long exposures, restrained compositions and expansive negative space create a sense of stillness in which horizon, architecture and landscape become almost abstract.

REDUCTION IN COLOUR

Colour becomes an essential compositional element rather than decoration. Reduced landscapes, architecture and open space are defined by clear geometry, rhythm and carefully balanced areas of colour, extending Gerald Berghammer’s minimalist visual language beyond black-and-white photography.
