BLACK & WHITE SPIDER AWARDS 2014 – 2ND PLACE

In 2014, Austrian fine art photographer Gerald Berghammer received Second Place – Merit of Excellence at the 9th Annual Black & White Spider Awards in the Architectural – Professional category for his photograph Bridge Study1.

Captured on black-and-white negative film with a Hasselblad 500 C/M medium-format camera, the award-winning work reflects Berghammer's distinctive approach to minimalist architectural photography, combining precise composition, strong visual structure and a refined monochrome aesthetic.

His photograph Burning City received an Honourable Mention in the same category. Also created using a Hasselblad 500 C/M camera and traditional black-and-white film, the work further demonstrates his interest in architectural forms and photographic expression.

Three additional photographs were recognised as nominees: New Sorento in the Architectural – Professional category, alongside Farmland Study and Dreamland in the Nature – Professional category.

These distinctions represent an important milestone in Berghammer's international photographic career, recognising both his architectural and landscape photography. His commitment to analogue craftsmanship, visual reduction and carefully balanced compositions continues to define his artistic practice and the photographic identity of SILVERFINEART.
