MINIMALIST COLOUR CITYSCAPES
Gerald Berghammer’s colour cityscape photography is defined by restrained colour, atmospheric light and precise composition. From the waterways and historic architecture of Venice to winter scenes in Vienna and Gmunden and Mediterranean villages in Cinque Terre, each photograph explores the relationship between architecture, colour and urban space.
Rather than concentrating on busy street scenes, Berghammer isolates façades, landmarks, gondolas and architectural structures, reducing them to carefully balanced visual relationships.
