Gerald Berghammer’s long-exposure fine art photography explores the relationship between time, movement and stillness through carefully composed black-and-white and colour photographs. Working with analogue and digital medium-format cameras, the Austrian fine art photographer uses extended exposures to soften water, clouds and atmospheric movement while preserving the structure of coastlines, rocks, architecture and landscape.
Created across Europe and selected international locations, these works transform transient conditions into reduced compositions defined by clarity, negative space and quiet tension. Black-and-white photography remains at the centre of the series, complemented by selected colour works in which restrained natural tones become part of the composition.

Gerald Berghammer’s long-exposure photography uses extended exposure times to transform moving water, clouds and changing atmospheric conditions into reduced compositions defined by stillness, structure and negative space. Coastlines, cliffs, rocks, piers and architectural elements remain as precise visual anchors while movement is softened into quiet surfaces and tonal transitions.
Black-and-white photography forms the core of this body of work, emphasising geometry, texture and tonal depth. Selected colour photographs extend the same visual language through restrained natural tones, allowing subtle colour relationships to become part of the composition without disturbing its minimalist character.
Created with analogue and digital medium-format cameras, the photographs are produced to archival standards and offered in carefully controlled limited editions. Each artwork is hand-signed, titled, numbered and stamped on the reverse and is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity. Worldwide insured and tracked delivery is available.
