INTERNATIONAL PHOTOGRAPHY AWARDS – GOLD MEDAL
GERALD BERGHAMMER | SILVERFINEART PHOTOGRAPHY
In 2015, Austrian fine art photographer Gerald Berghammer and Ina Forstinger received a Gold Medal at the International Photography Awards (IPA) for their black-and-white photographic series FARM LAND. The prestigious international distinction marked an important milestone for SILVERFINEART PHOTOGRAPHY and recognised the artistic quality of their analogue landscape photography.
The award-winning FARM LAND series explores the quiet geometry of agricultural landscapes through minimalist compositions, carefully balanced tonal contrasts and a refined sense of visual reduction. Photographed on traditional black-and-white negative film, the series reflects an artistic approach in which light, structure and atmosphere transform familiar rural scenery into timeless photographic compositions.
In addition to the Gold Medal, three further photographic series – PALM LAND, DRY LAND and SINGLE TREES – received Honorable Mentions at the 2015 International Photography Awards. These distinctions highlighted the consistency of their photographic vision and the expressive potential of analogue black-and-white photography.
The recognition at the International Photography Awards contributed to the international development of SILVERFINEART PHOTOGRAPHY and remains a significant achievement in Gerald Berghammer's photographic career.
