PALM BEACH STUDY 1 – FLORIDA, USA | GERALD BERGHAMMER
Palm Beach Study 1 is a minimalist analogue black-and-white fine art photograph by Austrian photographer Gerald Berghammer, captured in Florida, USA, in 2016. The photograph depicts three solitary palm trees on a deserted sandy beach beneath an expansive pale sky, with the sea and distant horizon forming a quiet backdrop. Their dark, sculptural trunks and dense fronds create a natural rhythm within the open coastal landscape, conveying a sense of space, isolation and stillness.Through subtle tonal transitions, pronounced silhouettes and generous negative space, Berghammer reduces the Florida beach landscape to its essential elements of palm trees, sand, sea and sky. The restrained monochrome composition emphasises the sculptural forms of the trees, while the expansive shoreline and soft horizon create a carefully balanced interplay of light, contrast and atmosphere.
Combining minimalist landscape photography with the timeless character of the Florida coastline, Palm Beach Study 1 transforms a simple coastal scene into a contemplative study of form, balance and solitude. Available as a limited-edition black-and-white fine art print through SILVERFINEART, the photograph offers a distinctive aesthetic for contemporary, minimalist and coastal-inspired interiors.
