PALM HOUSE STUDY 1 – SCHÖNBRUNN, VIENNA | GERALD BERGHAMMER
Palm House Study 1 is a black-and-white analogue fine art photograph by Austrian photographer Gerald Berghammer, created in Vienna in 2011. The architectural photograph depicts the historic Palm House at Schönbrunn Palace in Vienna, Austria, surrounded by snow and the formal gardens of the celebrated imperial landmark. The elegant 19th-century iron-and-glass structure rises from the winter landscape with sculptural clarity and quiet restraint. Berghammer’s minimalist composition emphasises symmetry, negative space and tonal contrast, presenting the Schönbrunn Palm House as both an architectural subject and a contemplative form.
A subdued sky and pristine snowfield create a meditative atmosphere, transforming this renowned Viennese landmark into a study of stillness, order and winter light. Available as a limited-edition fine art print, the photograph is particularly suited to minimalist interiors, architectural collections and spaces defined by calm, monochrome aesthetics.
