SNOW-COVERED CENTRAL PARK STUDY 3 – NEW YORK CITY, USA | GERALD BERGHAMMER
Snow-Covered Central Park Study 3 is a black-and-white fine art photograph by Austrian photographer Gerald Berghammer, capturing a peaceful winter scene in Central Park, Manhattan, New York City. The composition follows a winding snow-covered pathway through the historic urban park, bordered by empty benches, bare trees and traditional lampposts. Snow softens the surrounding landscape, while the delicate network of branches creates an intricate pattern against the pale winter atmosphere. The subtle interplay of light and shadow, architectural elements and natural forms lends the scene a remarkable sense of depth, balance and tranquillity.
Photographed in 2016, the work exemplifies Berghammer's minimalist approach to black-and-white fine art photography. Through precise composition, refined tonal gradations and carefully balanced contrasts, the photograph transforms one of New York City's most recognisable public spaces into a timeless study of winter, urban solitude and quiet beauty.
This original archival pigment ink print, Edition 3/9, was produced in 2024 and has previously been exhibited. Signed, numbered and dated, the photograph is housed in a matt-black aluminium frame with a natural-white archival mount and anti-reflective glass offering 70% UV protection. Measuring 53 × 53 × 2.5 cm, the framed work is ready to hang and is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity.
