GAEA (14/25) – FIGURATIVE BRONZE SCULPTURE | NANDO KALLWEIT
Gaea (2024) is a limited-edition figurative bronze sculpture by German sculptor Nando Kallweit, presented by SILVERFINEART Gallery in Vienna, Austria. The elongated female figure balances gracefully on one leg, with the other leg bent, one arm extended horizontally and the opposite hand resting against her rounded head. This expressive posture creates a distinctive sense of movement, balance and apparent weightlessness. The sculpture combines slender proportions, angular surfaces and a carefully reduced silhouette with the enduring material qualities of bronze. Its dark, textured body contrasts with the warmer tones of the rounded head, while the interplay of light, shadow and negative space emphasises the elegance and sculptural tension of the figure.
Through this refined interpretation of the human form, Kallweit explores the relationship between abstraction and representation. Gaea conveys individuality, quiet strength and a sense of freedom through a composition that is both dynamic and restrained.
Measuring 31 × 17 × 16 cm, Gaea is offered as edition number 14 of 25. The bronze sculpture is signed by the artist, with the edition number stamped into the base. A Certificate of Authenticity is available upon request.
With its expressive silhouette and understated contemporary aesthetic, Gaea is particularly suited to private art collections, minimalist interiors and architectural spaces where figurative sculpture can establish a distinctive artistic presence.
