Nando Kallweit – Iris (8/25)

IRIS – FIGURATIVE BRONZE SCULPTURE | NANDO KALLWEIT
IRIS (2023) is a contemporary figurative bronze sculpture by German artist Nando Kallweit, presented here as edition no. 8 of 25. Measuring 26 × 4 × 3 cm, the sculpture depicts a reclining female figure with elongated legs, one arm bent beside the head and the other extending outwards. The composition is defined by its strongly horizontal silhouette and angular transitions between the torso, shoulders and limbs.

The dark, textured bronze surface reveals subtle variations in tone, with highlights along the edges and contours emphasising the sculptural form. Viewed from different angles, the figure moves between recognisable human anatomy and geometric abstraction.

With its restrained detail, elongated proportions and quiet sense of stillness, IRIS reflects Kallweit’s distinctive approach to contemporary figurative sculpture, bringing together simplicity, balance and expressive human gesture.

Nando Kallweit is a German sculptor known for his contemporary figurative bronze sculptures, characterised by elongated proportions, refined silhouettes and a distinctive minimalist aesthetic.
