LEOPOLD – FIGURATIVE BRONZE SCULPTURE | NANDO KALLWEIT
Leopold (2020) is a contemporary figurative bronze sculpture by German artist Nando Kallweit, presented as a serial unique work. The sculpture depicts a seated male figure with elongated limbs, an angular head and a distinctly geometric silhouette. One knee is drawn upwards while the other leg extends outwards, creating an expressive composition defined by balance, proportion and negative space. The dark, textured bronze surface reveals subtle variations in tone, with light catching the sharply defined edges and sculptural contours. Reduced facial features and deliberately simplified anatomical forms emphasise the relationship between posture, gesture and structure. The interplay of intersecting limbs and open spaces gives this compact bronze sculpture a distinctive architectural presence.
Measuring 9 × 8.5 × 7.5 cm, Leopold reflects Kallweit's characteristic approach to contemporary figurative sculpture, combining human expression with geometric abstraction. Its restrained proportions and sculptural clarity make it particularly suited to contemporary interiors, intimate display settings and private collections of modern bronze sculpture.
As a serial unique work, each sculpture is individually produced and differs from other works within the series. This bronze is signed by Nando Kallweit.
