Nando Kallweit – Elfi

ELFI – FIGURATIVE BRONZE SCULPTURE | NANDO KALLWEIT
Elfi (2024) is a contemporary figurative bronze sculpture by German artist Nando Kallweit, presented as a serial unique work. Measuring 10 × 9.5 × 8 cm, the sculpture depicts a seated female figure with an elongated neck, an angular head and slender limbs. One knee is raised while the other leg extends outwards, creating an asymmetrical composition defined by balance and restraint.

The figure's gently inclined torso and long arms establish a quiet sense of movement. Open spaces between the limbs introduce lightness into the solid bronze form, while the dark patinated surface reveals subtle variations in texture and warmer highlights along the sculpted edges.

Viewed from different angles, Elfi reveals changing relationships between its geometric contours, overlapping limbs and negative spaces. The sculpture combines a distinctly contemporary treatment of the human figure with an intimate, contemplative presence.

As a serial unique sculpture, Elfi is an individually finished work within a series, with its own particular surface character and sculptural details.

Nando Kallweit is a German sculptor known for his contemporary figurative bronze sculptures, characterised by elongated proportions, refined silhouettes and a distinctive minimalist aesthetic. His artistic approach combines traditional sculptural techniques with a modern visual language defined by balance, movement and expressive form.

Focusing on the human figure, Kallweit explores emotion and human relationships through simplified shapes, subtle gestures and carefully considered proportions. His sculptures balance abstraction and representation, creating a timeless sense of elegance and individuality.
