JOSI – SERIAL UNIQUE BRONZE SCULPTURE | NANDO KALLWEIT
Josi (2024) is a contemporary figurative bronze sculpture by German artist Nando Kallweit, presented as a serial unique artwork. Measuring 9 × 10 × 8 cm, the sculpture depicts a seated female figure with one knee raised and an elongated leg extending outwards. Its simplified head, angular shoulders and slender limbs transform a natural human posture into an expressive, minimalist composition.
The dark bronze surface reveals subtle variations in texture and tone, with delicate highlights emphasising the sculptural contours. The arrangement of the arms and legs creates an interplay of geometric forms and negative space, while the asymmetrical seated position gives the figure a distinctive sense of balance and quiet movement.
Individually finished and signed by the artist, Josi reflects Kallweit’s characteristic approach to contemporary figurative sculpture, combining abstraction with a recognisable human presence. Its compact dimensions make it particularly suitable for display on a shelf, console or plinth, complementing contemporary interiors and thoughtfully curated art collections.
