Nando Kallweit – Elin (14/25)

ELIN – FIGURATIVE BRONZE SCULPTURE | NANDO KALLWEIT
Elin is a contemporary figurative bronze sculpture by German artist Nando Kallweit, created in 2020. The small-scale artwork depicts a stylised seated female figure with crossed legs, an elongated torso and a gently angled head. A tall, tapered vertical form rises beside the figure, creating a striking contrast between the upright element and the horizontal lines of the seated composition.

The sculpture's dark patina and subtly textured bronze surface emphasise its sculptural contours and the interplay of light, shadow and negative space. Rather than relying on anatomical realism, Kallweit reduces the human form to its essential proportions and gestures, achieving a distinctive balance between abstraction and representation.

With its carefully composed silhouette and quiet yet expressive presence, Elin reflects Kallweit's contemporary approach to figurative sculpture. Its compact dimensions make it particularly suitable for display on a shelf, console or pedestal, either as an individual artwork or within a curated collection of contemporary bronze sculpture.

Elin is presented by SILVERFINEART Gallery in Vienna, Austria, with worldwide shipping available.

Nando Kallweit is a German sculptor renowned for his distinctive contemporary figurative bronze sculptures, characterised by elongated proportions, elegant silhouettes and a refined minimalist aesthetic. His artistic approach combines the timeless tradition of figurative sculpture with a modern visual language defined by simplicity, balance and expressive form.

At the heart of Kallweit’s work is the human figure, interpreted through carefully reduced shapes and sculptural gestures. Rather than pursuing anatomical realism, he focuses on the essential characteristics of the body, transforming familiar human forms into elegant, stylised compositions. The interplay of proportion, movement and negative space gives his sculptures a distinctive sense of harmony and individuality.

His bronze figures often convey subtle emotions through posture and gesture, inviting viewers to discover their own interpretations. Graceful lines, elongated limbs and thoughtfully balanced compositions create an impression of lightness that contrasts with the physical permanence of bronze. Carefully textured surfaces and the interaction of light and shadow further enhance the expressive qualities of each sculpture.

Kallweit’s artistic language is both contemporary and timeless. His work explores the relationship between abstraction and representation, combining sculptural reduction with a strong sense of human presence. Each figure possesses its own character, revealing how simplicity of form can communicate emotion, elegance and quiet strength.

With their understated sophistication and distinctive sculptural presence, Nando Kallweit’s bronze artworks complement contemporary architecture, minimalist interiors and thoughtfully curated art collections. Whether presented as individual statement pieces or alongside fine art photography, his sculptures introduce a compelling dialogue between material, form and space.
