FRANKA II – FIGURATIVE BRONZE SCULPTURE | NANDO KALLWEIT
Franka II (2022) is a limited-edition figurative bronze sculpture by German artist Nando Kallweit, presented here as edition no. 9 of 25. Standing 45 cm high, the sculpture combines an elongated female figure with broad, branching stag antlers, creating a striking composition between human and animal forms. The slender legs and narrow torso establish a strong vertical rhythm, while the expansive antlers introduce a contrasting horizontal element. Open spaces between the arms and body reduce the visual mass of the bronze and emphasise its sculptural silhouette. The dark, textured surface reveals subtle variations in tone, with highlights accentuating the contours and carefully modelled details.
The combination of stylised human anatomy and animal features introduces a sense of ambiguity. Rather than presenting a fixed narrative, Franka II invites interpretations of transformation, identity and the relationship between humanity and nature. Its carefully balanced proportions give the work a distinctive presence from every viewing angle.
Measuring 45 × 14.5 × 8 cm, Franka II belongs to a limited edition of 25 casts. This particular sculpture, numbered 9/25, has been sold. Another cast from the same edition may still be available upon enquiry.
