GUNDL – FIGURATIVE BRONZE SCULPTURE
GUNDL (2019) is a serial unique figurative bronze sculpture by German sculptor Nando Kallweit. The work depicts a seated female figure with an elongated body, one knee raised and the other leg extending downwards. Its angular silhouette, simplified facial features and dark bronze surface reflect Kallweit’s distinctive approach to contemporary figurative sculpture. The composition combines a relaxed seated posture with a carefully balanced arrangement of geometric forms. The contrast between the raised knee, slender arms and extended leg creates an interplay of vertical and horizontal lines. Subtle variations in the textured bronze surface reveal the sculptural modelling and emphasise the work’s individual character.
Measuring 27 × 13 × 9 cm, GUNDL demonstrates how reduction and proportion can convey a recognisable human presence without relying on anatomical realism. Its understated expression and architectural quality make it particularly suited to contemporary interiors and carefully curated art collections.
GUNDL is an individually signed serial unique bronze sculpture, presented by SILVERFINEART Gallery in Vienna, Austria. A Certificate of Authenticity is available upon request.
