Nando Kallweit – Rhea (14/25)

RHEA (14/25) – FIGURATIVE BRONZE SCULPTURE | NANDO KALLWEIT
Rhea (2024) is a contemporary figurative bronze sculpture by German artist Nando Kallweit, presented as edition no. 14 of 25. Standing 31 cm high, the sculpture depicts a slender female figure balancing on one leg, with the other leg raised and bent outward. A rounded sphere held in one hand introduces a contrasting form to the elongated silhouette.

The angular head, narrow shoulders, extended limbs and gently curved torso reflect Kallweit’s distinctive sculptural language. The dark, textured bronze surface contrasts with the warmer tones of the sphere, while the open spaces between the arms, torso and raised leg emphasise the relationship between movement, balance and negative space.

Combining stylised figuration with geometric abstraction, Rhea conveys a sense of poise, lightness and quiet movement. Its asymmetrical composition changes subtly when viewed from different angles, revealing the expressive interplay of line, volume and surface.

Individually signed and numbered by the artist, this limited-edition bronze sculpture is particularly suited to collectors of contemporary figurative art and to carefully curated interiors.

Nando Kallweit is a German sculptor known for his contemporary figurative bronze sculptures, characterised by elongated proportions, refined silhouettes and a distinctive minimalist aesthetic.
