LAURA – FIGURATIVE BRONZE SCULPTURE | NANDO KALLWEIT
Laura (2020) is a serial unique figurative bronze sculpture by German artist Nando Kallweit. The seated female figure draws her knees close to her body, while her long, slender arms extend towards her feet. Her elongated neck and angular head contrast with the compact seated posture, creating a distinctive balance between vertical lines and curved forms. The dark, textured bronze surface reveals subtle variations in tone, with highlights emphasising the contours of the shoulders, torso and limbs. Open spaces between the arms and legs add depth to the composition, allowing the sculpture's silhouette to change with the viewing angle.
Measuring 11 × 4 × 6 cm, Laura combines reduced geometric forms with a quietly expressive human presence. The restrained facial features shift attention towards posture, proportion and gesture, reflecting Kallweit's distinctive approach to contemporary figurative sculpture.
As a serial unique work, Laura was individually produced and differs from other sculptures within the series. The bronze is signed by Nando Kallweit.
