MAGDALENA – FIGURATIVE BRONZE SCULPTURE | NANDO KALLWEIT
MAGDALENA (2020) is a limited-edition figurative bronze sculpture by German artist Nando Kallweit, distinguished by its elongated female silhouette, outstretched arms and two broad, vertically suspended forms resembling draped fabric. The composition balances the slender human figure with expansive geometric elements, creating a striking interplay between sculptural mass and negative space. The simplified facial features, carefully modelled torso and dark, textured bronze surface reflect Kallweit’s distinctive approach to contemporary figurative sculpture.
Viewed from different angles, MAGDALENA reveals changing relationships between the figure and the surrounding forms. Its architectural silhouette combines a strong visual presence with a sense of lightness, making the sculpture particularly suited to contemporary interiors and carefully curated art collections.
Created in 2020, MAGDALENA measures 31 × 23.5 × 7.5 cm and belongs to a limited edition of 25. Each cast is individually signed by the artist, with its edition number stamped into the base. A Certificate of Authenticity is available upon request.
