Ancient Laurisilva Forest Study 10 is a black-and-white fine art photograph by Austrian photographer Gerald Berghammer, capturing an ancient laurel tree in the mist-shrouded Laurisilva forest of Madeira, Portugal. The composition reveals the mysterious beauty of this ancient woodland, where sculptural tree forms emerge from the soft, atmospheric surroundings.

A solitary laurel tree dominates the composition, its dramatically leaning trunk and sweeping branches forming a striking sculptural silhouette. The dark, richly textured bark contrasts with the luminous mist enveloping the forest, while distant trees gradually dissolve into the pale background.
