Basilica Study 2 is a black-and-white fine art photograph by Austrian photographer Gerald Berghammer, capturing traditional Venetian gondolas against the architectural backdrop of the Basilica di San Giorgio Maggiore in Venice, Italy.

The composition reveals a quiet view across the Venetian Lagoon, where gently moving gondolas and slender wooden mooring poles occupy the foreground, while the historic basilica and its distinctive bell tower rise in the distance. The soft movement of the boats, rendered through long-exposure photography, contrasts with the clearly defined architectural forms. Delicate tonal gradations, atmospheric light and expansive negative space create a carefully balanced composition, conveying a sense of stillness within one of Venice's most recognisable settings.
