FRANZ – FIGURATIVE BRONZE SCULPTURE BY NANDO KALLWEIT
FRANZ (2020) is a serial unique figurative bronze sculpture by German sculptor Nando Kallweit. The seated male figure is characterised by elongated proportions, angular contours and a deliberately reduced facial form. With one leg extending sideways and the other hanging freely, the composition conveys a relaxed yet carefully balanced posture. The sculpture combines geometric simplicity with an expressive human presence. Its slender arms, distinctive silhouette and textured bronze surface reveal Kallweit's characteristic approach to contemporary figurative sculpture. The contrast between the elongated limbs and compact torso creates a subtle interplay of movement and stillness.
Measuring 17 × 8 × 7 cm, FRANZ is a compact sculptural work suited to display on a shelf, console or plinth. Its seated position allows the sculpture to interact naturally with the edge of its support, while its changing silhouette offers a different visual experience from every angle.
As a serial unique work, each sculpture in the series is individually produced and differs from the others. FRANZ reflects Nando Kallweit's distinctive sculptural language, combining simplified human forms with individuality, balance and understated elegance.
