GIOVANNI – FIGURATIVE BRONZE SCULPTURE | NANDO KALLWEIT
GIOVANNI (2023) is a figurative bronze sculpture by German sculptor Nando Kallweit. The work depicts a seated male figure with one knee raised and the other leg extending downwards. Its elongated proportions and angular, geometric forms create an expressive silhouette, with open spaces between the limbs contributing to the composition's visual lightness. The figure's tilted, faceted head and slender arms give the sculpture a quiet, introspective presence. Its dark patinated surface, subtly enlivened by warm bronze highlights along the edges, emphasises the sculptural modelling and the interplay between solid forms and open space.
Measuring 17 × 6 × 5 cm, GIOVANNI is a serial-unique work, individually produced within a series. The sculpture reflects Kallweit's distinctive approach to contemporary figurative sculpture, combining structural clarity, balanced proportions and understated human expression.
